Jeffrey Friedberg MT-BC, LCAT has devoted his life to using music to help build skills and improve lives. Jeffrey is a Board Certified Music Therapist by the Certifying Board for Music Therapists (CBMT) and a NY State licensed creative arts therapist (LCAT). In addition, he is an award-winning recording artist and performer of music for children & families with The Bossy Frog Band. His most recent album, "15 Songs Every Kid Should Know (and will Love!)", won a Parents' Choice award.
Jeffrey has practiced music therapy for 20 years in schools, hospitals, clinics and private practice. He has worked with children & adults with developmental delays, developmental disabilities, autism, psychiatric illnesses, dementia and who are going through difficult life transitions such as divorce or death in the family. Jeffrey currently runs a state-of-the-art music therapy studio in Nyack, NY working with children and adults with a variety of challenges. He also offers off-site music therapy programming for organizations, schools, clinics and individuals. Group and individual sessions are offered depending on age and therapy goals. Jeffrey's approach is to build life skills through all aspects of music. His musical skills are varied and he can attain therapy goals through general music therapy sessions, therapeutic music lessons, musical improvisation, song writing, multi-track recording, musical games, listening and moving to music. As the leader of The Bossy Frog Band, Jeffrey has recorded 8 albums of music for children and families that teach important life skills. His most recent album, "15 Songs Every Kid Should Know (and will Love!)", won a Parents' Choice Award. He performs music for children regularly throughout NY, NJ and CT. Recent recordings also include "Be A Friend: 16 songs to teach social skills" co-written with psychologist, Jed Baker Ph.D. |
